The premier database of world biology literature, and a primary source for any biology-related research, BIOSIS Previews contains the references to journal literature from Biological Abstracts, the references to meetings, reports, review articles, books and monographs from Biological Abstracts/RRM, as well as some unique references.

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) premier database of scholarly citations covering nearly 4,500 journals published in the U.S. and more than 70 other countries. New citations are added weekly. PubMed is more current than MEDLINE via EBSCO and in addition to providing access to MEDLINE, PubMed provides access to:

• The out-of-scope citations (e.g., articles on plate tectonics or astrophysics) from certain MEDLINE journals, primarily general science and chemistry journals, for which the life sciences articles are indexed for MEDLINE
• Citations that precede the date that a journal was selected for MEDLINE indexing
• Some additional life science journals that submit full text to PubMedCentral(c) and receive a qualitative review by NLM.

Coverage is international, including literature from over 125 countries. Indexes over 9,000 journals and 2,500 books are every year. Updated weekly. Subject coverage:

Download the SciFinder Scholar 2006 client to your Windows PC or Macintosh. If you are updating from a previous version (1.0, 3.0, 2000, 2001, or 2002--note there is no 2003 version) you should install the 2004 upgrade in the same directory on your computer (default is C:\sfschlr for Windows). This will retain your settings and site preferences file. If you are installing Sci Finder Scholar for the first time with version 2004, you will need to download the site.prf file and copy it to your C:\sfschlr after installing the application.

You may also access the SciFinder Scholar client in the Homer Babbidge Library; it is loaded on all SuperHOMER workstations.
